It seems like a day can’t go by now without Warner Bros. releasing new promotional items for the Dark Shadows feature film, and today that release consists of different character banner/posters for the various cast members. Not thrilled with all the casting choices but I do like the look of these.

Sadly, I think some of the questionable casting choices are the very least of this film’s problems.

I’m a long-time fan of the original series and I’m looking forward to seeing the film. I was hoping for a more dramatic take on the material – but I’m leaving myself open to experience the film at the theatre once it opens before passing judgement. I’m just hoping I feel something for the characters. If Burton can bring some genuine feeling to the story, then, for me, it will have been a success.

Although the comedic element to the DARK SHADOWS trailers has put me off, I must confess: I love these.

The good news: the promotional posters are very nice.
The bad news: the trailers all seem to indicate that the film itself will be an embarrassing train wreck of epic proportion.
I guess we all take our solace where we can.

If your child 5yrs old loves all things Tim Burton has worked on, would you bring him to see this film?

Perhaps the full out comedy implicit in the trailer is Warner Bros confusion on how to sell the film….Clearly these posters indicate something more gothic and serious. I was an avid fan, and I am open to seeing the film and giving it a fair shot, especially since there seems to be a dichotomy in regards to the latest poster promotion. Maybe it will still be comedic and yet epic and gothic…..with these new posters I am now open to the film againi

I agree..these poster DO look and feel like Dark Shadows, especially the ones of Josette, Barnabas, Roger and David. They have hit the tone of the series dead on, and i saw the show from the beginning

Hope, of course, springs eternal.
Believe me, I’ve never been more eager to be proven wrong about a movie in my entire life.
Unfortunately, I don’t think that will be the case. I just don’t see how the film could possibly pull back enough from those inane, puerile trailers to be be anything of merit on balance.
Again – prove me wrong, Mr. Burton. Please.
