The new issue of Total Film magazine has a report from the set of Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows, and the mag has provided an excerpt from the coverage that focuses on actress Eva Green, who portrays Angelique. Said Green of her character, “Tim never real treated her like a ‘baddie’ baddie. She’s kind of a damaged character. I think I could identify with her because all the bad things she does comes from the incredible love she has for Barnabas, who broke her heart. She’s a great character: very sarcastic, very irreverent, a great, dark sense of humour. I called her a ‘ballsy Barbie’.” Then, of working with Johnny Depp, she added, “”He’s a gentleman. He’s intense in a nice way – he has very intense eyes in this film. They see right through you. He’s not afraid of taking risks, you know… He’s not afraid about going over the top.”

That’s one of the first good things I’ve heard, about getting one of the characters right. Sounds like, at least in Angelique’s case, they might have carried over the essence of the character.

Frankly, who cares what she has to say about that “film”. Angelique has turned into a cartoon just like the rest of them.

I don’t blame Eva Green for this…it’s all Burton/Depp.
And now there’s proof — I think. I just saw the trailer for Abraham Lincoln Vampire Killer and it doesn’t look campy like this Dark Shadows movie! Burton produced it, but didn’t direct and maybe that should have been the case with DS!

What’s with all the Eva Green astroturf I’m seeing everywhere this is being discussed? Yeah, she’s pretty and I’m sure she’s a fine actress but the reaction some people are putting out there…”plus it has Eva Green”…”I’ll go see Eva Green in anything”…”Eva Green…nuff said”??? I had to go look her up to find out who she was and when I first watched the trailer I thought it was Heather Graham…someone’s agent is being really busy sock-puppeting her praises everywhere…

LOL!! You must be hanging out at Aintitcoolnews. Lots of those kinds of comments there…people even saying they would go see it just to see her tits! ::rolls eyes::
Yeah, she’s attractive…hot even…but are people really so stupid that the only thing they need is a nice pair of “tits” in a movie to get them to go see it? If so, Hollywood will never again make quality films. Why should they when all people need is the lowest common denominator.
Nevermind story or acting! We just need “tits”!!
Am I living in the f-ing Twilight Zone?! LOL!!!

I will let Warner Bros. studios get it early and straight up! Not a nickle for the theatrical release, pay-for-view, or movie rental. I was excited about this movie until I caught a glimpse of Johnny Depp’s cartoon make-up and then found out how cute Burton and Depp think they are together making the real fans of
Dark Shadows fond childhood memories into another Burton “barf-up!” (Oh I am just so gifted that whatever I decide to do is going to be loved, just loved!) Guess again! A recent movie critic was “spot on”, when he said, “Burton and Depp should really see other people!”
Memmo to Warner Brothers and the rest of Hollywood film makers. What a great idea pandering all your film making efforts to adolecent teens, since that age demographic is rapidly “dumping” film for video games! Turn on the applause sign for yourselves!
