Tim Burton Sheds Some Light on Dark Shadows
Director Tim Burton - whose name seems to be attached to a new project every week - recently sat down with MTV to discuss a number of these endeavors, including (naturally) his big screen version of Dark Shadows, which reaches theatres this May. What follows is an excerpt from that interview focusing on DS. To read the rest of it, just click HERE. MTV: What stage are you in for Dark Shadows right now? BURTON: Panicking. That stage. We're editing and doing effects. It's not an effects-heavy picture, but it's still got stuff in there. There's a strange tone to the movie. ...
Dark Shadows Comic: Issue #2 Now Available
Dynamie Entertainment's second issue of Dark Shadows, with script by Stuart Manning and art by Aaron Campbell, is described by the publisher as follows: "Television's original reluctant vampire is back! Barnabas Collins fears that another vampire is loose at Collinwood, while his friend Dr. Julia Hoffman finds herself in the thrall of a sinister force. As a seance is held to contact a restless spirit, Quentin Collins finds himself drawn into a dangerous mission to restore an ancient force to life.
Dark Shadows’ Underwater Ghost
BScine.com (a website devoted to the efforts of British cinematographers) is offering up an intriguing behind the scenes photo from Tim Burton's big screen version of Dark Shadows. In a move that is about as far removed from the original '60s' soap opera as you can probably get, we're seeing a radically different approach to ghosts. Whereas on the old show it's likely that an actress would be placed on a platform of sorts with wires attached to hair and costume to provide the proper billowy look, here we see an actress submerged in a tank of water to provide ...

The illustrations accompanying the discussion is the Entertainment Weekly full cast shot, as well as photos of the actors off the screen and the characters they're based on from the original series.
Dark Shadows: New Photos From the Set
Empire Magazine was on the set of Tim Burton's Dark Shadows and while the new issue has a feature on this set visit, the mag's website has an excerpt and a couple of never-before-seen photos. In the excerpt, the film's 1972 setting was addressed, with screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith offering, "Tim and Johnny took a long time explaining exactly why it had to be 1972. 1969 was too early and 1973 was too late. 1972 is right at the time when the hippie movement and all its peace and love is dying out and being replaced by this me-me-me generation ...
Dark Shadows: First Official Cast Shot of Johnny Depp & The Cast
No doubt in response to the paparazzi shots that hit the Internet last week, Warner Bros. through Entertainment Weekly, has issued the first official cast shot from Tim Burton's Dark Shadows. For the fans who were so outraged the seemingly Michael Jackson-inspired take on Barnabas Collins, this image should provide a little bit of reassurance. In the piece, which can be found HERE, Johnny Depp reflects, "I do remember, very vividly, practically sprinting home from school in the afternoon to see Jonathan Frid play Barnabas Collins. Even then, at that age, I knew — this has got to be weird." ...
